J
Today's the last day of 2011. So we all went to Ngong Ping for a walk instead of going for a long hike.
"Chocolate Christmas" is still "on stage", so we all enjoyed a wonderful time with lots of chocolate decorations here.
J
Still with Christmas decorations everywhere until 2 Jan 2012.
J
We started from the white arch-door for Big Buddha. Walking upwards on these long staircases is a good way to "test" our faith and tolerance. :)
J
Amitabha!!!
J
Very misty @ the top of Lantau Peak!!!!
J
Lunch @ Po Lin Monastery~ too much rice, although each of us ate up 2 big bowls of rice, still with some left behind....
J
Lovely puppies @ the food stalls nearby. The puppies are so energetic, these 2 little puppies suddenly jumped to me for hugs!!
They could just stop for 1-3 seconds, then they began jumping and fighting with each other.
J
Lotus Pond Monastery~ there are nuns living here now, in order not to disturb them, this is the last time we visit this place....
J
The dogs were playing happily on the grassland.
J
Visited the old abandoned monastery~ "Luen Sin Tong" ~ still with beautiful scenes, Tachibana san loves the scent of these pink flowers.
J
There are a number of old monasteries and little Zen centres inside the Old Ngong Ping village.
J
This big buffalo suddenly appeared from the bushes when we were taking photos nearby.

J
We took minibus no.56K from Fanling railway station and stopped @ Luk Keng terminus.
Then walked to the entrance of the Country trail @ Kai Kuk Shue Ha, and we walked along the footpath @ the seaside (Sterling Inlet).
After we had reached Fung Hang BBQ site, we kept on moving up the slope, from the staircases next to the BBQ area.
J
Now @ Fung Hang Village, with Great scenes here!! Keep on walking along the seaside and you can reach Kuk Po in 20-30 mins.
J
Our destination~~ Statue of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva @ the hillside of Kuk Po!!!
Though the mountain trail for "him" is quite bumpy, we still visit "him" every time when we come here.
J
Hakka snack stall @ Kuk Po Village~!! With very delicious Hakka style snacks, steamed sweet potato "cake" (middle) and glutinous rice mochi with peanuts (bottom) inside.
There were so many crushed peanuts in the mochi (rice cake), just like "bursting" out!!!!
J
Very very old village school of Kuk Po~ Kai Choi School.
J
Minsk @ Shenzhen seaside. It was sold to China by Belarus, now serves as a Military museum.
J
Walked to the way for Yung Shue Au, the path is steep and bumpy, but just within 10 mins, we reached our "target of the day"
J
Worshipped Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva :)
J
It is an offense if you go into the water of Sterling Inlet!!! Oyster shells all over the beach.
J
Chung Kee store~ it has become a food stall now, but actually the "building" itself was a watch tower during the World War II.
Japanese troops had entered this place and there were residents sacrificed, so a sign "Hero Tree" (英雄樹) is attached to a big tree for memorising them.
J
Sleeping beauties.
J
Incredibly beautiful nature scenes from Kuk Po village.
J
Direction stone~ road sign used in the past.
J
Back to Fung Hang village, the sky looked strange.....
J
Lunch @ Ying Kai cafe~ a village cafe of Fung Hang village. We could see there was "Steamed Chinese lettuce with preserved vegetables"
J
Mangrove @ Fung Hang.
