Entrance of Ship Street(just cross Queen's Road East) ~ The well-known haunted house Nam Ku Toi is on the slope.

Very hot this morning... This goldie didn't want to move.

Here's a housewares shop @ Miu King Toi, the haunted school St Luke's Colleage is at the back.

This way to the haunted school...

The gate of the haunted school is locked. It's very dirty and creepy here, climb into the school is not recommended.

(Some windows are nearly falling down. Be careful when you're standing under the school premise.)

Walking upwards from the footpath near Miu King Toi, we could see a big tree-hole there.

A close-up of the tree hole~~ There should be a house here! But the house is already collapsed and only a wall is left behind.
Now the wall is completely intruded by the big banyan trees.

There's a staircase nearby~ can lead to the top of the wall to have a look... But there were lots of wasps nearby, we were afraid of being stinged. Some people said this is the REAL haunted house, rather than the one called "Nam Ku Toi". True or not? Really don't know...

The house at the opposite side is the well-known haunted house @ Ship Street, Nam Ku Toi.

Rushed down to the haunted house!

The main entrance of Nam Ku Toi... but NO entry....

Now moving upwards to another entrance of the haunted house.

Oh, we still couldn't go inside. There was NO such big board to block this entrance many years ago, and I had entered the front of this haunted house for a visit before. Quite an exciting experience.

There are many trees outside the haunted house~ A man hanged himself on one of these trees a few years ago.

A very old-styled GoldSmith @ Queen's Road East, which is already closed.

Began our visit to Old Wan Chai District, from Stone Nullah Road.

We could see the buildings of Chun Yuen Street from Tai Yuen Street.

A corner of Tai Yuen Street (also is called "Toy Street")~~ In the past, there were food stalls all along this street. But most of these old shops were torn down due to Re-construction of the old district. I still cannot forget the veggie restaurant I visited every day, right here.

I'm a real Wan Chai lover. All because I had studied in this district many years ago, and I also have worked in Wan Chai for nearly 6 years.
In the old days, I saw many interesting things in Wan Chai, such as those old buildings, HK-styled food stalls, "Wedding card" street, food stalls in the streets, and even the "flying olives".

"Flying olives"? Actually it refers to a very funny way of selling olives in the streets.

In the past, the residential buildings were almost low-rise buildings, only a few stories tall.

A man, carried a big container full of olives, crying out in the street for selling his olives.

Children living in those old buildings nearby walked out to the balcony and asked the man to "fly" some olives to their flat.

Then the man threw a bunch of olives high in the sky to reach the kids' flats, and the kids threw money back to the man, and usually the man could "catch" the coins accurately.

Sounds interesting? Yes, it was a very interesting thing in the past. I also saw such funny things in Tai Yuen Street. But now as the buildings are high-rising, nobody can "fly" olives now.

Even now after work, I always go to Wan Chai for dinner, and also for renting my favourite new books.

This morning, we had a Buddhist ceremony (a Confession ceremony this morning) @ Western Monastery for Hungry Ghost Festival. The religious ceremony ended at 11:30am. We didn't have lunch with the others (usually after religious ceremonies, the monastery will offer a free lunch to the people attended.
And the lunch is paid by some of the attendees. In the old days, the purpose was to serve the monks and the low-income believers.)
As too many people came to Both Western Monastery and Yuen Yuen Institue today, there was traffic jam beginning from noon time. So we all decided to walk down the hill from Western Monastery,
through Lo Wai village, and then down to Tsuen Wan Town centre.

Snapshots taken after the confession ceremony @ Western Monastery. Guan-yin is also here.

Walked along Lo Wai Road and now @ Heung Hoi ship temple.

A little calabash-shaped pond in front of Chiu Yam (the sound of seawaves) Monastery.

Walked along a footpath from Chiu Yam Monastery and we could reach Tung Kok Zen forest. There's another footpath nearby. Let's walk down to have a look.

Oh!! We found a paradise here! See the 3 branches of water flowing down and form a pond!! Is this the reason this stream is called "Sam Dip Tam"?

(During the 70s, people didn't have too many leisure activites. So, swimming in Sam Dip Tam was also a very famous activity at that time. And there were accidents in this pond also and some people drowned.)

We took many pictures near Sam Dip Tam stream. We were all attracted by its beauty.

After we left Tung Kok Zen forest, we walked along the main footpath, then we saw another monastery nearby. Let's go to have a look.
This monastery is called "Fat Kwong Monastery" (Buddha Light Monastery)

We could see the lowest part of Sam Dip Tam stream outside Fat Kwong Monastery (Buddha Light monastery)~~
In the past, many visitors drowned in Sam Dip Tam stream when they were swimming here. So there are a number of horror stories and some people say that Sam Dip Tam stream is haunted.
Believe it or not??

A lonely cat near the monastery.

There's a little monastery nearby. And it's the office of Tibetan Buddhism Association.

Had a walk inside Lo Wai village.

We walked through Tung Wo Street, and reached another side of Lo Wai village.

Now we were near Tsuen Wan Town centre. We walked for a few minutes and finally arrived Shek Wai Kok Estate. This was the end of our Lo Wai visit, and began to walk to Luk Yeung Sun Chuen, which is at the top of Tsuen Wan MTR station.

We walked to Tsuen Cheong centre from Tsuen Wan MTR station to have lunch in a vegetarian food stall there.
After lunch, we walked to Discovery Park, and began our visit to another haunted stream~ Tso Kung Tam stream!!

Just like Sam Dip Tam stream in Lo Wai, many people liked to swim in Tso Kung Tam stream in the past, and many people died in the pond also.
So there are quite a number of ghost stories here, and people also claimed that this stream is haunted too.
Again... Believe it or not?! Hahaha!!

We had a visit to these 2 haunted streams this Saturday, the main reason is, Yue Lan Festival (Ghost Festival) is coming, on the next Tuesday.
Old sayings always remind us that, during the month of Yue Lan Festival (Lunar Calendar, the 15th date in the 7th month of a year),
ghosts will come out from the hell to have a visit of the Livings' world.
The ghosts may gather in haunted places and make some accidents happen, in order to "pull" more living people to the hell to be their mates.
Any strange things happened today?
No, we had a great time in these 2 haunted streams. But remember, Be careful when u're playing in the country side to avoid any tragedies.

You're interested in Tso Kung Tam stream?! First, start from Tsuen Wan MTR station, and walk through the long corridor until the end of Discovery Park.

Now we had reached Tsuen King Circuit Sports centre.

There's an escalator @ the entrance of Tsuen King Circuit Sports centre, go down from here to reach the bus stop.

There's a jogging path, Chiu Tam Path, which is at the back of the bus-stop. Just walk along this jogging path.

There's a staircase @ Chiu Tam Path which is leading to the hillside. But today, JUST ONLY walked along Chiu Tam path, NO need to go upstairs.

Continued to walk along Chiu Tam Path.

Finally we had reached the entrance of Tso Kung Tam stream!!! It's really a beautiful place!

There's a catchwater near the entrance of Tso Kung Tam stream, to avoid flooding.

Keep on walking along Chiu Tam path until you can see this little house. There's a little path leading to the pond of Tso Kung Tam stream. A warning sign is nearby, please DON'T swim here!!

Here's the pond of Tso Kung Tam stream!!

Photo-shots everywhere near Tso Kung Tam stream.

We left Tso Kung Tam and took an MTR to Jordon. And we visited Koon Chung park for "Yue Lan Festival" (Hungry Ghost festival)
