印洲塘古道歷奇遊 (媽騰古道, 荔烏古道, 苗三古道)
Visiting old Hakka villages of Yan Chau Tong (Double Haven) via ancient trails (Ma Tang Ancient Trail, Lai Wu Ancient Trail & Miu Sam Ancient Trail)

祠心路小巴總站旁, 出發去荔枝窩.
路程較長, 一早要起步.
Started from Chi Sum Road minibus terminus, we went to Lai Chi Wo via the first part of Wu Kau Tang Country Trail.
The whole trip is quite long, we started early in the morning.
綠色小屋旁上山.
Up slope from this little green village house.
第一段是荔烏古道 (烏蛟騰→荔枝窩), 途中與媽騰古道(烏蛟騰→亞媽芴)重疊.
荔烏古道約長5.5公里, 不作休息, 我們在 90分鐘內完成.
The first part is Lai Wu Ancient Trail (from Wu Kau Tang to Lai Chi Wo) intersecting "Ma Tang Ancient Trail - from Wu Kau Tang to A Ma Wat" in the middle part of the trail.
It took us around 90 minutes for Lai Chi Wo, 5.5 km.
Follow the signage for Lai Chi Wo, you can also change your mind for a short hiking trail (Wu Kau Tang Country Trail) if you want to go camping @ Kong Ha Au Campsite.

亞媽芴古村遺址, 古村在八十年代已荒廢, 現在已被大自然吞噬.
Former A Ma Wat Village.....
This old village was abandoned in the 1980s, now being swallowed by the forest.
昔日的亞媽芴村就在此.
The ruins of A Ma Wat Village, now only some bricks are left.
下去分水凹, 不去荔枝窩, 可改為去谷埔村.
Down slope for Fan Shui Au, if you don't want to go for Lai Chi Wo, you can turn to another direction for Kuk Po Village (in Sha Tau Kok).
印洲塘 Yan Chau Tong (Double Haven).

去荔枝窩了.
Now going to Lai Chi Wo.
分水凹的紀念碑, 為了感謝昔日捐款建設樓梯方便村民出入而設.
Tombstone?? No.....
It is a monument with names carved on it, it is to thank the ones who donated money for constructing stairs and village roads for the villagers.
古村的樓梯級, 都是有孔的, 以防止水浸.
There are big holes on the old stairs, these holes are used to prevent excess rain water causing floods in the village.
過溪.....
Cross the stream.
看見煙囪, 到了荔枝窩.
Now @ Lai Chi Wo when you can see this incinerator!!!

印洲塘畔小休, 有剛才從荔枝窩買來的黃糖糕作茶點.

離開三椏村, 向三椏涌走.
Leaving Sam A Village, now moving to Sam A Chung, a big stream.

三椏涌營地大休.
有兩位山友已帶備帳蓬及輕巧廚具, 打算今晚留在三椏涌, 我們也順便大休及吃東西.

Two of our team-mates have brought camping equipment, they will stay here for camping overnight.
We also stopped for a rest and had snacks & drinks here.
離開營地繼續向烏蛟騰進發, 很快到了苗三石澗.
Leaving the campsite and continued our walk back to Wu Kau Tang, now we are @ Miu Sam Stream.
到了上苗田, 即是很快便會到達九担租.
Now @ (Upper) Sheung Miu Tin, Kau Tam Tso is not far away.

到了烏蛟騰, 立即去楓香林看紅葉.
Now we are back to Wu Kau Tang, time for a look @ the sweet gum woods.
由於今年的冬天完全不冷, 楓香林內只有少得可憐的紅葉, 大部分是黃色及橙色, 很多都枯了.
The winter of 2023 is really too warm, there are only a small number of leaves on sweet gum trees have turned red, mostly are yellow and orange, and lots of leaves have fallen.....
最多紅葉的一棵.
The tree with many red leaves, but the leaves are dry and ready to fall.
