J

Take a West Rail train and get off @ Long Ping station. Start from Exit B2, walk to the way for Long Ping Estate.
When you've reached the shopping centre of Long Ping Estate, there's a bus terminus nearby. Take a KMB bus no. 76K and get off at Hung Mo Kiu bus-stop.

J

@ Hung Mo Kiu bus-stop, there's a road sign for Nam Sang Wai nearby. Just walk into Nam Sang Wai Road and keep on walking along Kam Tin River.

J

The long walk to Nam Sang Wai started from here! 4.2km in length (Nam Sang Wai ONLY), we had walked for 40 mins!!

J

Yellow fairies came to welcome us~ A group of yellow dragonflies @ the top of our heads!

J

Great scenes everywhere!! We abandoned the main road and walked via the forest path, much cooler inside, with GREEN scenes also!

J

Fish ponds and wetland scenes

J

We had reached the big grassland of Nam Sang Wai. There's a forest track behind the trees. The path is for Luen Hing Wai.
There're wonderful nature scenes and fishermen's village inside. MUST go to have a look!

J

Scenes @ the forest track... strong wind today, GREAT!!

J

Taking photos like crazy inside Luen Hing Wai~ fish ponds, old stilt houses, fishing boat, and also with a tomb-stone for a dog called "Wong Siu B" (Little B from Wong's family!)
There are still a few fishermen living here, please don't scream and disturb them.

J

Gift from nature!! A big piece of lotus flowers blooming in those abandoned ponds!!!
They are so big and beautiful, many photographers also were here today for these pink beauties!

J

We left from Nam Sang Wai Road again! Under a high temperature of 30C, we all escaped to the woods! But still felt very hot!!
Suddenly a little food stall appeared inside the woods (NOT a mirage!!!),
then we rushed into the shop and order chilled sweetened tofu, followed by soft-drinks!

J

The food stall is just built along the fish ponds, we all took some photos as we were eating. There was bread spreaded on the top of the fish ponds for feeding the fishes!
(We also had bread for breakfast this morning!!)

J

We left Nam Sang Wai and walked along the super long cycling path and through the subway to the opposite side for the gasoline station (Castle Peak Road -- Tam Mi).
Then we took bus no. 64K from Au Tau bus-stop which is next to the gasoline station, and got off at Kam Sheung Road MTR station.

J

Final stop~ now we were @ Kam Sheung Road MTR station, there's a flea market next to it. We rushed into the flea market for drinks again!!!

We went to Guan-yin Monastery in Upper Keung Shan in Lantau today. The weather was fine and beautiful scenes everywhere.

Tachibana san was planking everywhere!! Even the stone lion couldn't stop laughing!

Discovered "Heaven's Bridge" and the doorway to the "Peaceful land of the West" (It should be the graveyard of the monks)

A very colourful bug!! Which species?

Tachibana san played "planking" again @ the staircases!! Wooow! It's very dangerous!

A flower dancing in the air!!!! Was it haunted????? Hahaha!! Just a spider was moving on the branches with the flower hanging down from the spider web.
We left from the main doorway and waited for a bus to go back for Tung Chung.

After our lunch in Tung Chung, we walked to Tei Po (@ Cheung Tung Road) to have a little bit sight-seeing at the forest area there.
But we were very surprised to find out so many people playing inside the "Buddhist Youth Camp", which was closed for nearly 15 years (or more),
due to the construction of HK International airport.

The campsite now is undergoing a large maintenance project (nobody here for so many years!!!! All the things are rusted),
and it will be re-opened to the public around autumn / winter in 2011!! There will be various activities and camping available later, and I can have a chance to stay here for a night in the future!!!
What a great news!!

Buddhist Youth Camp is founded in 1979, by HK Buddhist Association.
The campsite was far far far away from the urban area in the past, as Tung Chung was NOT under any development project at all until the construction of HK Int'l airport.
NO traffic roads available (ONLY sea transport) to Lantau Island in the old days, campers had to spend lots of time to reach this campsite.
Can't imagine the development of Tung Chung can make people coming to this campsite so quickly ~ just walk for 15 mins from Exit D of Tung Chung MTR station!
