Old "Blue Whale" Beach (Fa Peng Beach)

Fa Peng Beach was once called "Blue Whale Beach" around 2002-2005, the land was once used as a private resort area for Park Island residents (@ Ma Wan Island).
But in 2005 the gov found that it is a breach of lease and the whole project was abandoned and the place is deserted till now.
沿北大嶼山公路向汲水門橋方向走, 在此可以經引水道行, 但很多路段已經佈滿雜草甚難走, 為了不會迷路, 還是沿公路前進安全得多.
We started our walk along North Lantau Highway, when you see this signage, you can go upstairs and walk via the catchwater, but now as most of the catchwater is full of long grass and some parts are fenced, we stick to the highway for easier walking.

避開青馬管制區
Keep away from Tsing Ma Control Area ~ They are watching you!
勿走入禁地, 這是在大橋關閉時使用的, 走右方的村路.
Keep walking on the footpath @ the right-hand side.
The tunnel is for traffic use when the bridge is closed.
到達汲水門橋, 昔日此地是 大轉.
Now @ Kap Shui Mun Bridge, this place was called "Tai Chuen" before the bridge is built.
You can even touch Kap Shui Mun Bridge!!!
村路入口, 上樓梯往草灣.
The entrance of the villages, go upstairs for Tso Wan Village.
燈籠洲, 上有燈塔
Tang Lung Chau Island (Lantern / Lighthouse Island) (@ RIGHT).
It is called "Lantern Island" because there is a lighthouse on this little island, which serves as a "torch" or "lantern" for ships.
It is a restricted area with NO public transport to access.

Ma Wan Island @ the opposite side.

The 1st pavilion, this part is called "Yi Chuen", which means "the 2nd corner".
Follow the direction for Fa Peng and even Disneyland which is really far away ......

草灣有居民, 勿騷擾大叫及勿亂拋垃圾
草灣村旁有石屎路可步往花坪灣.
There are residents living in Tso Wan Village, please lower your voice.
There is a footpath next to the village for Fa Peng Beach.
昔日由草灣步向花坪灣是沒有石屎路的, 十年前我們是穿過竹林及斜坡才能走到花坪, 今日有石屎路, 很快便走到花坪灣.
Now we have arrived Fa Peng Beach.
Last time when we came to this place in 2009, there was NO footpath from Tso Wan to this place.
We had to walk through a steep big bamboo forest in order to reach Fa Peng Beach.
花坪灣, 昔日又名藍鯨灣.
Fa Peng Beach, it is also called Blue Whale Beach long time ago.
藍鯨灣年代的寶石湖.
This pool was called "Emerald Pool" in the past.
藍鯨灣年代的渡假村遺址, 此小屋原是酒吧.

踏上山路, 路上沙石多又斜滑, 慢慢走.
Now moving to a steep and slippery hiking trail.
