J

Our plan today was Lantau Trail stage 2 (To Sunset Peak). But Nelson had brought some friends along (Jeremy Joseph and Ricky G. Rogers), and our new team-mate, Mike Stevenson,
wanted to have a look @ the famous place, Lantau Peak, for seeing sunrise~ , so we changed our plan to Lantau Peak and Ngong Ping.

J

Monument~ RIP! For the 2 officers of Government Flying Service who died in a helicopter crash during a rescue service @ this place.

J

We had been walking for 2km and another 2.5km ahead!! Move, guys!!!!!! The scene @ Lantau Peak is extremely beautiful,
we could see Sunset Peak @ the opposite side!! The path for the first 2km is very hiker-friendly, but for the rest, just like HELL.

J

This place is under "Corporate Afforestation Scheme" from Cathay Pacific Airways, so there are various kinds of flowers and plants everywhere @ the highland.
Tachibana san was running and laughing on this big piece of beautiful and colourful land (does it look like those pastures in Europe?), our team-mates all moved their camera lens to Tachibana san!!!

J

The path became steeper and steeper... and even steeper like straight!!! As we moved upwards...
Very exhausted, just like our energy all "sucked up" by the pheonix... (In Chinese, Lantau Peak is called Phoenix Peak)...
There's a sun shelter near distance pole L022 (Around 650m above sea level). We had a little bit rest here.
From here, we could see the top of Lantau Peak was in the fog, and we still needed to walk along 2 hills in order to reach the top.

J

South Heaven's Door ~ A very narrow valley, with fog flushing out frequently.

J

From now on, we were moving upwards to the top of Lantau Peak, via the "Heaven's Staircases" (Just like HELL from here)

J

Now we could see the top of Lantau Peak!!! But still have to walk via many bumpy and very steep paths.

J

After 3km's walk, we had reached the top of Lantau Peak finally!! We all shouted out happily.. "We have made it!!!"

J

It was not windy @ the hill top today, but we still had a rest inside the wind shelter.

J

@ the top of Lantau Peak~ Height: 934m above sea level, Tachibana san had a visit here, with a photo as "evidence"!! :)

J

The road downhill is close to the cliff (already @ Tsam Chai Au), with scattered stones everywhere and very steep, be careful

J

Beautiful flowers!!

J

The most challenging part is near Tsam Chai Au, with fatal accidents in the past.
Here's 810m above sea level, still with a height of 400m for downhill.

J

Looking back to the top of Lantau Peak~ Really so steep and high!
Can't imagine we had walked so long!

J

Still far away from the Wisdom Path.

J

Now @ the archway of Lantau Sunrise~ also our end point!!
We met a poor buffalo, with part of its nose being torn out!!! Who did this thing to it?????? So cruel, like a beast.
