船灣六鄉古村遊 -- 涌尾村遺址
Visit to the ruins of Chung Mei ancient village (one of the demolished Plover Cove Six Villages)

今天我們只稍探船灣六鄉之一的涌尾村遺址, 而且因為仍然是雨季, 石澗水位很高, 我們無法走進古村的遺跡上, 只能在涌尾村後面的古道上賞瀑.
要走入古村遺跡, 要在旱季水位最低之時, 古村才會露出來.
Today we visited the ruins of one of the demolished Plover Cove Six Villages -- Chung Mei ancient village, which is near Bride's Pool Road.
The ruins of these six ancient villages are all covered by water and ONLY can be seen during dry seasons.
As it is still summer time, we could not go down to the ruins of Chung Mei ancient village, but we found a village road near the stream in the place which used to be part of the ancient village.

新娘潭站下車, 向大美督方向走, 走到橫涌石澗入澗處.
Stopped @ Bride's Pool BBQ site bus-stop, then walked along Bride's Pool Road (Tai Mei Tuk direction), now Rudolph had a look @ Wang Chung Stream.

Continued our walk along Bride's Pool Road (Tai Mei Tuk direction).
小路往流動廁所, 亦是涌尾古村遺址.
A traffic road leading to mobile toilet, this way is also for the ruins of Chung Mei Ancient Village.

昔日船灣六鄉就在此, 今日是船灣淡水湖, 水塘已淹沒了六鄉.
Plover Cove Six Villages were located here before the construction of Plover Cove Reservoir.
Now the ruins of all the six villages are under the reservoir, but they can be seen during the dry season.
很窄...... It's quite narrow, be careful when you're crossing this part.
昔日這裡是田地及村落.
There were farmlands and village houses throughout this place in the past.
真正的涌尾 (溪澗的盡頭)
We were @ the real Chung Mei (meaning: End of the stream).
找到涌尾的古道, 也是涌尾古村的一部份.
We found an old village road @ end of the stream, also part of Chung Mei Ancient Village.
由古道走回涌尾水澗, 昔日古村以大石代橋.
No bridge but you can cross the stream by stepping on these big rocks.
鋼橋可以通往新娘潭燒烤場.
You can go to Bride's Pool BBQ site via this steel bridge.

沿新娘潭路走, 來到另一已消失的古村所在地 -- 涌背.
Walking along Bride's Pool Road, we found the place where a disappeared village was located -- Chung Pui (Back of a stream).
涌背古村的遺址.
Chung Pui Village was located here before the construction of Plover Cove Reservoir.
到了船灣郊野公園, 這裡可上行至八仙嶺.
Now @ Plover Cove Country Park, you can walk upstairs for Pat Sin Leng (mountain range).
終於到了大美督!!!
