雖然已是初秋, 但仍熱得要命. 來到久違了的大澳, 已經是上午十一時, 先過橋往石仔埗那邊買馳名大澳的糯米糍.
Although autumn has come, it is still very hot!!! We arrived Tai O Market around 11:00am and we were going to Shek Tsai Po Street to buy the most famous rice cakes first!!!

Meoooow!! We had entered alien Cats' base!!!




來到石仔埗, 在身後的甜點檔買美味的糯米糍.
Now we were @ Shek Tsai Po. First we bought some rice cakes (mochi) with peanuts or red beans inside, from a little kiosk (with a chimney) at the back of Tachibana san.




向新基橋方向走, 先一看東京碼頭 (門外有小矮人的東京士多後面).
We walked to the way for Sun Kei Bridge, and stopped @ "Tokyo Pier" (At the back of a store with statues of Snow White and 7 dwarfs.)






踏上新基橋.
Now @ Sun Kei Bridge.


到了象山 (北山) 腳下.
Now @ the "foot" of Elephant Hill (North Hill... in Cantonese it is also called "Pak Shan").


對岸是寶珠潭, 像一顆綠色寶石浮在水面, 寶石下面是楊候古廟.
The opposite side is "Po Chu Tam", it looks like a green gemstone floating on the water, with "Yeung Hau" Temple covered by the trees.




上去象山看嶼北界石.
Going up to have a look @ the North Lantau Obelisk (Details here) on Elephant Hill.

向龍巖寺方向走, 途中進入象山下的隱世村落.
We walked to the way for Lung Yim Temple, there is a footpath on the middle of the road, leading to a village with no name......

Now we were in front of these a stone village house, which used to be an old morgue (left one for females and the right one for males) decades ago.

離開前, 在大澳的流浪貓cafe 喝了美味的西瓜沙冰, 還遇上另一位瘦削的貓星人.
Had a glass of water melon smoothie @ Tai O Stray cats cafe before leaving. We met another alien cat in the shop.

大埔元洲仔短遊
Visit to Island House (Yuen Chau Tsai)

今天又是非常悶熱, 而且又要在5時前趕回市區, 在只有3小時短短的時段裡, 大家決定去一個從未去過, 有古跡看, 交通方便又位於郊區的地點一行 ---- 大埔元洲仔!!!
元洲仔原本是一個小小的島嶼, 昔日是漁村, 面向吐露港, 而且曾經盛產珍珠呢!!! 後來因為發展大埔的關係, 此小島被填入陸地, 現位於廣福邨的對面, 亦可經完善路接入, 交通非常方便.
在大埔墟午飯後, 大家乘坐K17 港鐵巴士至富善邨總站, 再從富善邨後面的完善公園起步.
Again a hot Saturday, and today we have to be back to the urban area around 17:00 and so we can only have a short walk in 3 hours!! So we are going to a place we have not visited before --- Island House in Tai Po!!!
Island House (Yuen Chau Tsai in Cantonese) -- an islet with a fishermen village and a declared monument (a white house, now it has become the WWF Conservation Studies Centre). The islet is connected to the land during the time for the development of Tai Po. It faces Tolo Harbour, and it was also a famous site for pearl cultivation long long ago. It is near Kwong Fuk Estate and you can also reach this place via Yuen Shin Road.
After having our lunch @ Tai Po Market Municipal Building, we took a bus (no. K17) which stops @ Fu Shin Estate. From there, we walked to Yuen Shin Park and started our walk to Island House.






經完善公園一直前走, 直至小路的盡頭, 暫不往海濱公園方向走, 先轉右方, 穿過行人隧道, 去瞭望台一看. 瞭望台亦是觀星台, 雖然附近有不少大廈, 不過在瞭望台頂部亦可看到星星!!!
We walked via Yuen Shin Park until the end of the footpath. We were not going to the way for Tai Po Waterfront Park, in stead, we turned right and walked via the subway to the other side of the park, where there is a Lookout Area for star / night sky watching!!! Although there are buildings around, the view is not bad!!








瞭望台頂部景觀開揚, 觀星亦不錯.
Now we were @ the top of the Lookout Tower, with a nice panorama of Tai Po!!! Not bad for star-gazing!!!






離開瞭望台, 向大埔海濱公園方向走, 有綠色小徑可以通向大王爺廟(在元洲仔). 只需5-10分鐘, 已到達元洲仔公園的入口.
We left the Lookout Area and back to the way for Tai Po Waterfront Park. There is a green footpath inside the park for Tai Wong Yeh Temple (on Island House). Just within 5-10 minutes, we were @ the entrance of Yuen Chau Tsai Park (Island House).




先在元洲仔公園內小休..... 茶點時間到了!!!

走到元洲仔里, 很快便看到此海邊小白屋, 這裡是WWF 的自然環境研究中心. 樓梯上另有白屋, 是法定古蹟, 不過入口已鎖上.
We walked to the end of Island House Lane and had a look @ this little white house @ the seaside --- Island House Conservation Studies Centre. There is another white house upstairs (a declared monument) but the entrance is closed.

Now we had reached the end of the islet -- sea cape of Island House.




最後走到宏福苑, 旁邊是廣福邨, 有巴士 (K18) 回大埔火車站.
We stopped @ Wang Fuk Court-- and then we caught a bus (no. K18) for Tai Po Railway station @ the bus terminus of Kwong Fuk Estate.
