(東涌地鐵站富東邨 D 出口→富東街→香港佛教聯合會東涌活動中心方向→沿第二層引水道前行→第3號引水道後山有通往白芒舊山路→途中沿長樓梯上婆髻山→原路回地鐵站)
(Exit D of Tung Chung MTR station [Exit for Fu Tung Estate] →Fu Tung Street→The way for HK Buddhist Association Tung Chung Centre→Walk along the 2nd deck of the catchwater→Old mountain trail for Pak Mong Village / HK Olympic Trail at the back of stream no.3→Go upstairs for Por Kai Shan peak on the catchwater trail→Back to Tung Chung MTR station from the same route)

今天已是平安夜, 市區實在太多人, 大家在東涌地鐵站集合後, 先往富東商場買早餐, 然後沿富東街(佛教聯合會東涌活動中心方向) 走, 見到香港奧運徑的地圖後, 便經引水道進入.
Christmas Eve today, with crowds everywhere in the shopping malls. We were going to spend a day in Lantau and so we gathered @ Tung Chung MTR station, then walked to Fu Tung Estate to buy some dim-sums (veggie buns!!!). Then we walked along Fu Tung Street (the way for HK Buddhist Association Tung Chung Centre) until we saw a big map for HK Olympic Trail.

東涌活動中心旁, 便是第二層引水道, 沿此前進探秘.
The 2nd deck of Tung Chung Catchwater is just outside HK Buddhist Association Tung Chung Centre, we walked straight from here and started our adventure.


偶然引水道被攔截, 要走到翔東路.
Some parts of the catchwater are blocked, we switched to Cheung Tung Road to continue our walk.






在3號引水道附近找到往白芒的舊山路!!!!! 上山一看, 可清楚望見映灣園.
We found the old mountain trail for Pak Mong near Catchwater no.3!!! We walked uphill and could see Carribean Coast (residental buildings) clearly from there.






郊野永遠都這麼美.
Beautiful scenes everywhere in the countryside.




由此樓梯上婆髻山, 又長又斜, 不過一場來到, 當然要上去一看.
Go upstairs for Por Kai Shan peak (Granny's hair bun peak), quite a long and steep walk!!!

山中原本有不少石澗, 因水務工程很多已被封閉.
There were lots of streams along the trail to Pak Mong, but now most of these streams are enclosed by catchwater.

今天氣溫下降了不少, 天色非常陰暗, 沒有到郊野行, 趁暴雨來臨前, 稍作市區小登山. 下午4時左右, 在九龍灣淘大花園起步, 經佐敦谷泳池旁的佐敦谷晨運徑上山, 在沈雲山上來個小小的市區尋幽探秘遊.
Temperature gradually dropping from early this morning, it was also very dark and humid. We didn't go for hiking in the countryside, but still had a little bit of hillside walk @ the city area before the coming of winter rain.
Started from Amoy Garden in Kowloon Bay around 4 p.m. , we walked to Jordan Valley Swimming Pool and then went uphill via the jogging path. This little hill is called "Shum Wan Shan" and we could still have a little bit fun @ the hillside before getting dark.


往山上走, 可看見佐敦谷石澗.
We could see Jordan Valley Stream as we were walking uphill via the jogging path.


路上有些地方可供休息, 應該是維修人員以破爛石屋改建而成.
There are some little huts as sun-shelters, most probably built by the maintenance workers (from the old collapsed stone houses).




雖然是市區, 但走到山上卻是另一個世界 -- 沿樓梯上山, 途中可見不少巨石, 趁機在岩石上坐一下!!!
You cannot believe that you are in such a crowded district -- Kowloon Bay!!! Just like 2 different dimensions if you walk up the hill!!! We moved up and up and there are many big rocks around us. A great time to have fun here, back to the nature is much better than shopping around in the crowded shopping malls.




看到佐敦谷水壩, 是昔日佐敦谷水塘的主壩, 水源來自佐敦谷石澗, 主要供水給從前的寮屋區, 水塘多年前已消失.
Now we could see the main dam of Jordan Valley reservoir. The source of water was from Jordan Valley Stream, and it supplied water to the squatter houses of old Kowloon Bay. The reservoir was demolished decades ago, but the main dam and the catchwater are still here for flood prevention.


步至主壩上.
Now we had reached the top of the main dam.

主壩盡頭有秘道可以上山, 快去探險!!
There is a "secret" trail at the end of the main dam, let's go uphill for a look!!!






向山上走, 究竟前面有什麼呢???
We walked along the secret trail but with no idea where this path is leading to.....






到了山上的大片草地上, 終於遇上其他遊人 -- 原來此小徑可通往佐敦谷公園..... 不過由於天色已越來越暗, 大家沒有手電筒, 只好下山回淘大花園.
We saw a big piece of grass here and finally we met a hiker.... so we know that this trail is for Jordan Valley Park (near New Clear Water Bay Road), it is quite far away from Kowloon Bay!! As it was getting darker and darker and none of us had brought a torch, we had to go downhill from here!!


下山至淘大花園不久, 開始下雨了....!!! 冬天的雨特別冷, 如果仍然在山上一定冷得發抖!!
We were quite lucky that once we went down to Amoy Garden, it started to rain. It is not a funny thing to walk under the winter rain -- just like iced water pouring on your head!!

今早大家在地鐵站集合後, 馬上乘車到哥連臣角巴士站. 掃墓??? 當然不是, 我們的起步點是巴士站旁的石澳郊野公園, 今日的目的地是石澳的大浪灣.
We gathered @ Shau Kei Wan MTR station this morning and then we went to Cape Collinson bus-stop by minibus. It is near the crematorium, but of course we were not here for a funeral!!! Our start point of today was Shek O Country Park, which is near the crematorium, and we were going to Big Wave Bay (@ Shek O) from here.

Pottinger Peak is at the back of Tachibana san.




到了馬塘坳, 有一片大草坪可供小休.
You can have a little bit rest @ this place -- Ma Tong Au (Pottinger Gap), which is along the catchwater of Mount Collinson.


這邊是哥連臣山.
This side is Mount Collinson.




又是行山交义點 -- 向前走是往小西灣的砵甸乍山郊遊徑, 向下走則是往大浪灣.
You can choose the way you like -- Go straight forward via Pottinger Peak Country Trail for Siu Sai Wan, or go downhill for Big Wave Bay.








下山通過林徑, 可往大浪灣. 沿途全是叢林, 內裡有不少竹樹.
We walked via the woods for Big Wave Bay, with trees and rocks all the way long, also with some bamboo trees!!


終於走到標柱 H100, 亦即是大浪灣村的所在.
Now we had reached Distance post H100, that is Big Wave Bay Village.






大浪灣村雖然偏遠, 但環境不錯, 有不少居民在此.
Big Wave Bay Village is a bit far to access, but there are still quite a number of residents here. It is not as crowded and noisy as Shek O, a nice place for surfing!!!






大浪灣的海浪非常強勁, 對泳客有點危險, 但絕對是滑浪者的天堂!!!
The waves are really so strong @ Big Wave Bay, quite challenging for swimmers, but it is sufers' paradise!!

沙灘旁有燒烤場, 由那裡上山, 可以看到 3000 年前的古代石刻.
There is a BBQ site @ the beach-side. Go uphill from there and you can find the ancient rock carving (over 3000 years old) at the cliff-side.
